I was asked to hold up the “N” in “INDIA” and say something at a school function for Independence day in kindergarten. I don’t remember what the “N” stood for but I do remember that was the day I discovered my love for public speaking.
In high school, I participated in English, Hindi and Marathi elocution contests, always managing to place in the top three. I was elected Mr. Mars in college by my peers due to my ability to motivate and inspire those around me.
Since then, I have continued my public speaking journey and joined Toastmasters in 2016. I enjoy participating in speech contests as it helps me hone my skills and learn from others. I was the District 30 Humorous Speech contest champion in 2016, District 30 International Speech contest champion in 2017, World Champion of Public Speaking semi-finalist in 2017 and District 30 International Speech contest champion again in 2019.
Aside from the thrill of competition, I have an interest in helping others to build their speech craft. I have served as an instructor for the Toastmasters Leadership Institute sessions, have been the Master of Ceremonies at various events, and have been invited as a guest speaker by many organizations to inspire and motivate their ranks. Lately, I have also become a mentor to those with a passion for public speaking and have helped them get started on their own journey to public speaking success.
I currently serve as a motivational speaker for organizations looking to build camaraderie in their ranks.
